Reineke introduces Bill naming Oct. 4 as 'Rutherford B. Hayes Day'

COLUMBUS — State Senator Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) introduced Senate Bill 62 which would designate Oct. 4 as “Rutherford B. Hayes Day”.

Before running for the presidency, Hayes served in the United States House of Representatives and served three terms as the Governor of Ohio. President Hayes is also known for helping found the Ohio Agricultural and Mechanical College, which would go on to become the Ohio State University.
