Rep. Click to hold town hall meetings

COLUMBUS — Ohio State Representative Gary Click will be hosting a series of town-hall meetings in the Sandusky County section of the 88th district on Wednesday. Click encourages constituents from anywhere to attend, ask questions, and share their opinions. These events will be designed to hear from the communities in the 88th district.

Locations are:

Woodville Village Town Hall, 9 to 10 a.m., 530 Lime St, Woodville;

Gibsonburg Birchard Public Library, noon to 1 p.m.,100 N. Webster St, Gibsonburg, email Rep88@OhioHouse.Gov to schedule a meeting during this time.

Birchard Public Library Town Hall, 2 to 3 p.m., 423 Croghan St, Fremont;

Clyde Public Library Town Hall, 4 to 5 p.m., 222 W. Buckeye St, Clyde.

GLCAP seeks pupils for Head Start Preschool

FREMONT — Great Lakes Community Action Partnership (GLCAP) Early Childhood centers are seeking students for the 2022-2023 Head Start preschool year.

Through GLCAP Head Start, children can receive no-cost, full-day preschool that focuses on kindergarten readiness, socialization, and other important developmental needs for children and families.

While eligibility is based on federal poverty guidelines, program staff will look at each family’s situation and assist them in finding the best option for their family’s circumstances. Children in foster care or identified as homeless are also eligible, regardless of income. Children with disabilities are welcome and accommodated at all centers. Parents and caregivers are encouraged to call for details.

Women to teach basics of sewing, pressure canning

FREMONT — The Ladies Homestead Gathering on Sewing 101 and Pressure Canning Basics will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday July 21 at Birchard Public Library, 423 Croghan St. The session will be taught by the members of the National Ladies Homestead Gathering.

Fremont Community Cookout set for Wednesday

FREMONT — Come on out this summer for some free food and community engagement at the Community Cookout Series set from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday July 20 in Rodger Young Park. Local youth can interact with the members of the Fremont Police Department. There will be free food and youth activities. For more information, visit fremontohio.org.

Ottawa County Board of Election to meet

OAK HARBOR — The Ottawa County Board of Elections will meet 1 p.m. Wednesday  for a special board meeting to discuss the open clerk position and any other business that is brought before the board. The meeting will be held at the Board of Elections office, 8444 West Ohio 163, , in the Veterans Memorial Building.
