Sandusky River Trail 5K set for Saturday

TIFFIN —The 2022 Sandusky River Trail Fun Run/Walk will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, sponsored by the Sandusky River Watershed Coalition. The 5K begins at 9:30 with the one mile starting at 9:35 a.m. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at the Steyer Nature Preserve.

Women's Connection to meet Nov. 8

FREMONT — The Fremont Area Women’s Connection will meet 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 8 at The Victor Event Center, 2270 Hayes Ave.

All women are invited to attend the luncheon and enjoy the program that will include Kristie Bilger, the executive director of Downtown Fremont, Inc.

Guest speaker Rosanne Moore, Sunman, Indiana will share her life story of “Beauty and my Beast.” Cost of the luncheon is $14 and reservations are needed by Nov. 3 by calling or texting Donna at 419-680-2251 or emailing Carrol at fawcluncheon@gmail.com.

Reservations as well as any necessary cancellations must be reported in the same way.

St. Paul Lutheran to hold chicken barbecue

OAK HARBOR — St. Paul Lutheran Church, 9789 W. Oak Harbor Southeast Road, will be hosting its annual chicken barbecue from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Nov. 6 at the church.

Menu includes a half chicken, mashed potatoes, cole slaw, bread, sherbet, and a drink. Cost of the meal will be $12. Contact any church member or call 419-898-2168 to reserve tickets. This event is drive thru/carryout only. A limited number of tickets may be available the day of the event.

Card club winners announced

FREMONT — The Pinochle Card Club released its September winners. First place went to Rose Bowden and Mary Lou Corthell, with 750, and second place went to Margaret Weisz and Barb Kocsis, with 741.

Sight-in Day set at Elmore Conservation Club

ELMORE — The 39th annual Dick Gremling Memorial Sight-In Day, sponsored by the Elmore Conservation Club, is set for 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at the club range, 15550 West Portage River South Road.

The day is a public event aimed at giving shooters the opportunity to sight in rifle, pistol, slug-gun, handgun, or bow for the hunting seasons. A donation of $10 per firearm or bow is asked, with proceeds going to Elmore area charities for the needy at the holidays. Experienced club staff will be on hand to assist.

The range is located along the Portage River, south side, a half mile west of Ohio, 590. For more information, call 419-478-0233.
