Tree commission holding home decorating contest
FREMONT - The Fremont Tree and Beautification Commission is sponsoring the Annual Christmas-Holiday Decorating Contest.
Nominations of names or addresses may be submitted on the commission's Facebook page or by texting Rick at 419-307-8924. Feel free to nominate yourself. The commission will be judging homes on Dec. 18 and posting the addresses shortly afterwards; allowing the community plenty of time to drive the family around to enjoy the all inspiring displays.
Free ELMS meal offered in Port Clinton
PORT CLINTON - A free ELMS Community Meal will be held at 5 p.m. Dec. 15 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, East Second Street. This is carry-out only. Dinner includes baked ham, cheesy potatoes and desserts. The dinner is compliments of St. Thomas and Peace Lutheran churches.
Winesburg parade winners announced
CLYDE - The City of Clyde has announced the Winesburg Christmas Northern Light Parade entry winners. Trophies were awarded to the Christmas Story Car, Clyde Light and Power, Clyde Public Library, 90.5 Radio Station and Spader Freight.
Trophies are being distributed to the winners.
Metropolitan Housing Authority to meet
FREMONT - The next b-monthly meeting of the Sandusky Metropolitan Housing Authority will be held at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 13 at the Sandusky MHA Office, 1358 Mosser Drive.
Time to renew dog licenses
FREMONT - Dec. 1 kicked off the 2023 Dog Licensing season in Sandusky County. All dogs over the age of three months must be licensed in accordance with Ohio Law.
Dog owners who had a 2022 Dog License should be receiving a renewal application in the mail. If you do not receive the application, call the dog warden's office and staff can get one sent out.
Pet owners may also renew online, here at the office or at any satellites site. For more information call the dog warden's office. Licenses should be purchased by Jan. 31, 2023 to avoid any late fees.
Satellite sites include: Fremont - Auditor's Office, Chud's Market, Fremont Animal Hospital, Humane Society of Sandusky County and Westview Veterinary Hospital; Bellevue - Bellevue Animal Hospital and York Animal Hospital; Clyde - Discount Drug Mart, Clyde Public Library and Groomer's Corner; Gibsonburg - Dirty Dogg Grooming and Spa; Lindsey - Lindsey Village Market; and Woodville - Woodville One Stop Center.
