Trinity UMC to host Bible School

FREMONT — Trinity United Methodist Church, corner of Court and Wayne streets, will host vacation Bible school 5:30-p.m. July 18-21. Children are welcome to come to the Food Truck Party each evening and share supper, music, recreation, science and crafts along with memorable Bible stories. For more information, call the church office at 419-332-5032.

Program on historic homes, architecture is Tuesday

CLYDE — "Historic Homes and Architecture of Sandusky County" will be presented at 7 p.m. today at the Clyde Museum in the Hurd Room, 124 W. Buckeye St. Parking is available behind the museum in the alleyway parking lots and the parking lot at the corner of Buckeye and George streets at the former First Financial Bank.

Catawba Island Township Trustees opt out of HB 127

CATAWBA ISLAND TOWNSHIP — The township trustees met in a special meeting July 1 and voted unanimously to pass a resolution banning the discharge, ignition and/or explosion of 1.4G fireworks in Catawba Island Township as provided by Ohio House Bill 172 and Ohio Revised Code 3743.45. The resolution was encouraged and supported by township police and fire departments.

The decision was made in an effort to ensure the health and safety of residents, visitors, residential property, businesses, woodlands, and agricultural property. The resolution does not apply to licensed fireworks exhibitors that comply with all regulations determined by the State Fire Marshal.

Hirt family plans 106th reunion

FREMONT — Descendants of Casper and Verena Hirt will celebrate their 106th family reunion Sunday at the Sandusky County Fairgrounds. The potluck lunch begins at noon with many activities planned.

Magruder hires Christman

PORT CLINTON —  Paul Christman was recently hired as Magruder Hospital’s director of business intelligence. Christman received a bachelor of science in human biology from University of California, San Diego and a master's degree in finance is from Fox School of Business, Temple University, Philadelphia.

Christman will collaborate with colleagues to build business intelligence solutions and lead projects and initiatives designed to inform strategic and operational decisions in the areas of resource planning, allocation and management.
