Johnson applauds funding for Ross County

COLUMBUS—State Representative Mark Johnson (R-Chillicothe) issued the following statement applauding $629,800 in state funding for the Ross County Land Reutilization Corporation to support 29 building demolition projects in the county.

The funding is part of the $150 million Ohio Building and Demolition Site Revitalization Program, which lawmakers funded in the state budget. The program provides grants for the demolition of commercial and residential buildings and revitalization of surrounding properties in communities across Ohio.

“Supporting local revitalization efforts is one of the ways we are working to support communities in rural Ohio. When we talk about keeping and creating jobs in rural Ohio and maintaining and improving quality of life, revitalization is an important part of that equation. This is a positive step forward for Ross County.”
