Shop handmade artwork, enjoy lunch at annual women’s club craft show

PORT CLINTON – Shop handmade home décor, jewelry, soaps, sand art and more at the 40th Annual Port Clinton Women’s Club Arts and Crafts Show on July 9 at Lakeview Park.

The event is from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. In addition to artisan vendors, the Lions Club will sell hamburgers and hotdogs.

Legion to hold baked steak dinner

BRADNER - On Sunday, July 2, the Bradner American Legion post will hold its baked steak dinner at 209 West Crocker St. The menu is a baked steak, mashed potatoes with or without gravy, green beans, roll, dessert, and a drink. Cost is $10. Call in orders to 419-288-3634 for pickup or eat at the post. Serving begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 1 p.m.

Birchard Library Board to discuss search for new director

FREMONT - The Birchard Public Library Board of Trustees will hold at special meeting at 4 p.m. July 6 at the main library. The board will discuss the process to search for a new library director.

Lakeside plans July Fourth parades, fireworks

LAKESIDE - Lakeside’s Fourth of July celebration begins at 10 a.m. July 4 with a Bike Parade departing from Perry Park. Participants of all ages should arrive by 9:30 a.m. along the lakefront path near Perry Park with an already-decorated bike, scooter or stroller. In advance of the Bike Parade, families are encouraged to designate a place for children to find their families after they’ve finished riding in the parade.

Immediately following the Bike Parade is Lakeside’s unique Fourth of July Parade with decorated golf carts, antique cars and floats. This year’s parade will be one of the largest in Lakeside’s recent history.

Head to the lakefront for the Fourth of July fireworks at 9:45 p.m. A Rescue Marine barge will be used to launch the fireworks from the water for a wide viewing area. In case of rain, fireworks will be held July 5.

Ice Cream Social set for seniors for July 4th

PORT CLINTON - Join Ottawa County Senior Resources for an 4th of July Ice Cream Social between 2 to 7 p.m. at the Trinity United Methodist Church (inside), as the county commissioners dish up ice cream. This Ice Cream Social is made possible by Crosser and Priesman Funeral Homes, Senior Resources and the County Commissioners.
