Mt. Carmel UMC to hold Soup Cook Off

CLYDE - A Soup Cook Off will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 25 at Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church, 4997 CR 183.

The event is free to the public. Church members will make their favorite soups for the public to try. Have a bowl of soup and vote for a favorite.

Women's Connection to hold Valentine's Day luncheon

FREMONT - Fremont Area Women’s Connection’s Ladies' Luncheon will be Valentine's Day, Feb. 14 at Victor’s Event Center, 2270 Hayes Ave.

The group invites all women to get a special delivery from from the feature speaker on “Mailman Sonny and the 419.”

Amy Gardner from Luna Pier, Michigan, will share her story “Laughter to Joy.”

Doors open at 10:30 a.m. for coffee and socializing. Lunch and program is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Cost is $14.

Time running out on ODNR survey

COLUMBUS – People have been spending a lot of time outdoors in Ohio, whether it’s kayaking, camping, hiking, fishing, or swimming. There are just two weeks left to let the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) know what you want to see more of in the great outdoors. The statewide survey to contribute to Ohio’s State Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (SCORP) is available through the end of this month.Feedback from the survey will help determine outdoor recreation priorities of Ohioans. The survey results will be included in the five-year SCORP, which provides information on recreation trends and serves as a reference document for state officials distributing federal and state grants for public park facilities around the state.To have your opinion heard, take the survey at Ohio Resident Outdoor Recreation Survey (qualtrics.com). The survey closes Jan. 31.

Port Clinton volleyball clinics slated for 4th through 6th graders

PORT CLINTON - Port Clinton Volleyball is offering PCVB University to teach and refine fundamental volleyball skills for students in grades fourth through sixth.  Each session is two hours and free. This opportunity will be under the direction of PCHS Coach Kent Felbinger and PCHS Volleyball players.  All sessions will be held at PCHS from noon to 2 p.m. on the following dates:  Feb. 12, 19; March 5, 26; April 2, 30; and May 20, 28.
