Mosley soccer player Zamiyah Hill has been voted this week's News Herald Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 10-15.

The sophomore forward earned 39.32 percent of the votes cast by News Herald readers, beating out other nominees such as Ben Lebdaoui of Arnold High School (37.28 percent), Chris Bibbs of North Bay Haven (21.47 percent), Robert Wills of Mosley High School (0.98 percent), Alex Steen of Arnold High School (0.45 percent), Romero Black of Rutherford High School (0.27 percent), Samiyah Smiley of Bay High School (0.12 percent), and Shakirah Edwards of Rutherford High School (0.11 percent).

Hill scored eight total goals in two games for the Dolphins, scoring six times in an 8-0 win over Choctawhatchee and adding two more goals and an assist in an 8-0 victory over North Bay Haven. She leads Bay County with 33 goals for the season.

What it is your favorite sports moment?

My header to break the tie in last year’s regional playoff which advanced Mosley to the regional semifinals.

How/When did you get started playing your sport?

I started playing when I was 5 years old.

What do you love about the sport you play?

The competitiveness and my teammates.

Who is an athlete you look up to and why?

Neymar because he has amazing foot skills.

What are you interested in studying in college?

Engineering.

What is your greatest non-athletic talent?

I’ve played the piano since I was 5 years old.

What is your favorite movie?

Ferris Bueller's Day Off and Home Alone.

What is your favorite food?

Fettucine Alfredo.

What is your favorite book?

The Lines That Bind by Emily Griffin.

What's on your playlist right now?

J.Cole - No Role Modelz/ Beyonce – 7/11.

What is the best advice you’ve ever been given?

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me Philippians 4:13.

What is one thing you're excited about right now?

Going into districts and playoffs.
