The News-Messenger will continue six-day publication of a print newspaper with carrier delivery.

Plans announced in May to publish online daily and print only on Saturdays with delivery by mail have been put on hold indefinitely. The Gannett Co., owner of The News-Messenger, is re-evaluating earlier print frequency changes in other markets, the cost of newsprint and availability of carriers.

“We’re grateful to the many readers who reached out to us with concerns and questions since our initial announcement,” Editor David Yonke said. “Our primary focus is to continue providing local journalism to the community on whatever platform each reader prefers.”

Full coverage will continue to be provided on TheNews-Messenger.com.

All print subscribers have full digital access, meaning they can read news updates throughout the day, subscriber-only stories and video and audio features, among other benefits. Subscribers also have 24/7 access to obituaries, legal notices and classified ads on our website.

Subscribers also enjoy digital access to the USA TODAY Network’s full suite of e-editions across the country, meaning you can read daily e-editions from Columbus, Akron and Detroit along with many others. Subscribers also have ad-free access to the USA TODAY Crossword puzzle.

Anyone with questions about the change can access their account at help.thenews-messenger.com or call customer service at 1-877-424-0217.
