News-talk radio station The Truth is adding a morning show with Telly Hughes and Denise Thomas, and a new show with Melanie Ricks
101.7 The Truth, the news-talk radio station focusing on Milwaukee's Black community, is rearranging its on-air lineup.
"Truth Be Told With DT and Telly," a new show featuring veteran sports broadcaster Telly Hughes and Effective Communication Coach LLC founder Denise Thomas, will air from 7 to 9 a.m. weekdays, replacing "MKE in the Morning." Melanie Ricks, the popular Milwaukee Bucks in-game host who has hosted "MKE in the Morning" since The Truth launched more than two years ago, will host a new show, "Nothin' But the Truth," from noon to 1 p.m.
The new shows start April 3.
"The Truth With Sherwin Hughes," which has aired from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., moves up an hour earlier, from 9 a.m. to noon. The station's other two mainstays, "The Tory Lowe Show" from 1 to 4 p.m. and "The Truth in the Afternoon With Ken Harris," remain on the schedule.
Launched by Milwaukee-based Good Karma Brands in January 2021, The Truth airs at 101.7 on the FM dial, and is also available on The Truth app. Good Karma also owns WTMJ-AM (620) and WKTI-FM (94.5) in Milwaukee.
