1 dead, 1 in custody after shooting in south Goodyear
One person died and another person was in custody after a shooting on Saturday at a home in south Goodyear, police said.
Goodyear police arrived about 4:51 p.m. after reports of a shooting at a residence near Estrella Parkway and Willis Road, according to police spokesperson Sgt. Sean Tyler.
Police found one deceased adult and arrested a suspect in connection with the death.
Detectives were in the neighborhood to conduct an investigation, according to Tyler, who declined to provide more details.
The shooting was believed to be an isolated incident with no threat to the surrounding area, Tyler said.
