1 dead and 3 others injures in Brooklyn watercraft collision: NYPD

BROOKLYN, N.Y. (PIX11) –  One man is dead and three others injured after a maritime accident occured in the Brooklyn waters on Saturday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

The NYPD Harbor unit and members of the FDNY received a report of a boating accident a few minutes before noon. A small boat with three people on board collided with a jet ski near Avenue X and Gerritsen Avenue, police said.

Two people were taken to Coney Island Hospital to be treated for their injuries. They are expected to recover, police said.

One person was treated for minor injuries at the scene. A 58-year-old male was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. His identity is pending family notification.

As the investigation is ongoing, other details were not made immediately available.
