‘Dangerous’ man wanted in deadly Sarasota shooting arrested in Miami, police say

SARASOTA, Fla. (WFLA) — An “armed and dangerous” man who was wanted in connection with a deadly shooting Thursday morning in Sarasota has been arrested in Miami, according to police.

The Sarasota Police Department said the shooting happened near the intersection of Dixie Avenue and 24th Street shortly after 1 a.m. Thursday. A man was shot and killed at the scene.

Kevin Holloway, 54, was wanted in connection to the overnight shooting. Officers said they believe Holloway is responsible for the fatal shooting. He is facing charges of murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and two counts of aggravated assault.

The Sarasota Police Department thanked the Miami Police Department for its assistance.
