1 killed, another hurt in separate Southeast DC shootings

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) — The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) is investigating after two separate shootings left one man hurt and another dead overnight in Southeast D.C.

MPD responded to the first shooting just after 12 a.m. in the 700 block of Upsal Street SE. There, a man was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

He was taken to a hospital where he died.

Just over an hour later at 1:34 a.m., officers were at the scene of another shooting in the 3400 block of 13th Place SE. There, a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound.

He was conscious and breathing.
