10-year-old girl dies from gunshot wound: Cleveland police
CLEVELAND (WJW) – Cleveland police are investigating after 10-year-old girl died from a gunshot wound, the FOX 8 I-Team learned Thursday evening.
Cleveland officers were called for reports of shots fired in the area of 3200 block of West 125th Street just after 7 p.m.

When they got there, officers found a 10-year-old girl with a gunshot wound. Officers at the scene started providing first aid and the child was rushed to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead soon after.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office on Friday identified the girl as Gracie Griffin, of Cleveland. She was transported from her home to a hospital, according to the office.
No arrests have been made in the shooting, which remains under investigation at this time.
Ward 16 councilperson Brian Kazy, in a statement to FOX 8 News, encouraged anyone with information on the shooting to call city homicide investigators at 216-623-5464.
“I am deeply disturbed and saddened by the unexpected loss of a 10-year-old in our community. This senseless act of violence is a tragedy that has shaken us to its core,” he wrote. “I pray that our law enforcement officials and neighborhood come together to ensure those responsible are held accountable for their actions, while also providing support to the grieving family. … Collectively, we must work towards creating a safer environment for our children, and all residents of this city.”
