12 malnourished animals rescued from trailer in North Las Vegas: police

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A man in North Las Vegas was discovered to have kept 12 animals inside his trailer all of which seemed malnourished and confined in a tight space, according to a declaration of arrest.

On February 27, officers were dispatched to East Tropical Parkway and North Pecos Road following reports of a disturbance and a parking violation. Upon arrival, officers immediately noticed an odor of feces and urine coming from a nearby trailer that was illegally parked, according to the North Las Vegas Police Department.

Cedric Milnder, the owner of the mobile home, was informed by police officials that his trailer needed to be towed. Upon entering the trailer officers found numerous dogs locked in crates with one additional dog discovered in a separate room or closet, according to a police report.

Inside the trailer were a total of 12 animals: 11 dogs of various breeds including Pit bulls, Bulldogs, Chihuahuas, a Siberian Husky, and Cane Corsos, along with one lizard, according to police documents. The dogs ranged in age from three months old to 7 years old. The age of the lizard is unknown.

The dogs were impounded and taken to The Animal Foundation, according to the police report.

Milnder, is now facing one felony charge for animal cruelty and 34 misdemeanor charges related to violating animal protection laws, according to police documents.

Milnder is set to appear in court on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.
