GREENVILLE COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) – A 14-year-old boy was arrested Saturday night after he allegedly shot a 7-year-old.
According to Greenville County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to a home on Crosby Circle at around 11:35 p.m. for a reported shooting. At the scene they found a 7-year-old boy with at least one gunshot wound to the abdomen. The child was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.
After investigating, deputies arrested a 14-year-old boy in connection with the shooting. Deputies said the teen shot the younger boy during what is believed to be a sleepover at the victim’s house.
The sheriff’s office said the teen ran away from the home and was later located at his own home a few houses down from the shooting location.

“What led up to the victim being shot and how the suspect acquired the firearm is still under investigation,” the sheriff’s office said.
