I-15 southbound closed amid major ongoing paving project

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A large portion of I-15 through the Las Vegas Valley is now closed and will remain closed until Monday morning as part of a major ongoing paving project.

The effort, according to Nevada Department of Transportation officials, is necessary to rehabilitate the pavement on southbound I-15 between Warm Springs and Flamingo roads in Las Vegas, resulting in a full closure between Friday at 9 p.m. and Monday at 5 a.m.

Between those days, many on and off-ramps will be closed, and road access will be limited in certain areas. Those changes are as follows:

  • Flamingo Road on-ramp to I-15 southbound

  • Harmon Avenue on-ramp to I-15 southbound

  • I-15 southbound off-ramp to Tropicana Avenue

  • Tropicana Avenue on-ramp to I-15 southbound remains closed

  • I-15 southbound off-ramp to Russell Road

  • Russell Road CD road access to I-15 southbound

  • I-15 southbound ramp to I-215 eastbound

  • Ramp access to I-215 eastbound and westbound from the CD road is open

Officials ask commuters to be cautious in work zones and take alternate detour routes if possible. Additionally, NDOT suggests drivers use the Waze app, “which can provide drivers with the fastest route to their destination.”
