16 people displaced after central Las Vegas apartment fire

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) —  The Clark County Fire Department responded to an apartment building fire in the central Las Vegas valley Sunday evening.

Just before 7:45 p.m., fire crews responded to 3937 Spencer Street, the Riverbend Village Apartments, after a report of a structure fire. First responders found the blaze affecting multiple apartments in the complex.

Four people were taken to area medical facilities due to burns and other injuries that took place during the evacuation. No one was fatally injured, officials said. 16 people were left without a place to live due to the fire.

No firefighters were injured, and the investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, fire officials said.

A total of 10 engines, two ladder trucks, two reduces, one squad, and one air resource unit, along with one EMS coordinator, three battalion chiefs, and three investigators, were involved in fighting the blaze, officials said.
