18-month-old girl dies after being struck by car driven by family member in Horizon City

An 18-month-old girl died Sunday evening after being struck by a vehicle driven by a family member in Horizon City, authorities said.

The girl was runover by a vehicle about 7:20 p.m. Sunday, July 7, in the driveway of her family's home in the 14300 block of Desert Shadow Drive near Eastlake Boulevard, Horizon City Police Department officials said.

The girl died from injuries she sustained in the accident. The vehicle was driven by a family member, officials said.

There are no pending criminal charges against anyone involved in the death as of Monday morning, officials said.

Horizon City Police Department's Special Traffic Investigation and Crime Investigation Division officers are investigating the accident.

No further information has been released.
