18-year-old arrested in connection with Rocklin armed robbery, police say
Police in Rocklin announced the arrest of an 18-year-old after an armed robbery took place Friday.
According to officers, a man wearing a ski mask and armed with a gun entered a business on the 6500 block of Fairway Drive about 5:30 p.m. and demanded money, the Rocklin Police Department said in a statement. The robber fled the scene after taking the cash from the business, which was not disclosed.
Officers reviewed footage from nearby security cameras and identified the suspect’s vehicle as a white Honda Accord. After sharing the vehicle information, a Citrus Heights police officer spotted the vehicle near Auburn Boulevard and Pratt Avenue.
The officer stopped the vehicle and detained the suspect, identified as an 18-year-old resident of Weimar. He was arrested by Rocklin police and booked into the Placer County Jail, though the man did not appear in the jail’s booking logs.
The man is expected to face at least one felony charge of robbery, according to police, and officers said they located “several realistic replica firearms” inside his vehicle.
“We extend our gratitude to our partners at the Citrus Heights Police Department for all of their help in solving this case,” Rocklin officers said.
