18-year-old killed in Blount County crash

BLOUNT COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — An Oneonta teen is dead following a single-vehicle crash that occurred July 20 in Blount County, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports.

The crash, which occurred on Blount County 1 about one mile south of Oneonta, resulted when the 2015 Chevrolet Tahoe 1500 the teen was driving left the road, hit a tree and overturned. The teen was transported to a nearby hospital for medical aid.

Birmingham police start homicide investigation in Southside

The victim was pronounced dead Friday. Troopers with ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash.

The California Department of Motor Vehicles this week granted Nuro approval to test its third-generation R3 autonomous delivery vehicle in four Bay Area cities, giving the AV startup a positive boost after facing some setbacks and financial struggles. The approval gives Nuro the ability to test its driverless delivery vehicle in Mountain View, Palo Alto, Los Altos and Menlo Park. Nuro’s vehicles, which don't have seats, windows, steering wheels or pedals, aren’t designed to carry passengers, only goods.
