19-year-old arrested after man found shot to death on Orange County road

A 19-year-old was arrested after a man was found shot to death on a Santa Ana road.

The suspect was identified as Adrain Lopez, 19, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.

On June 30, police responded to reports of a shooting near Bristol Street and Memory Lane at around 12:28 a.m.

Arriving officers found a man lying on the southbound lanes of Bristol Street with gunshot wounds on his upper torso. He was identified as Fernando Manuel Lopez, 20.

Despite life-saving measures, Fernando was pronounced dead at the scene. The gunman had fled the area before police arrived.

Investigators later identified Adrain as the murder suspect. On July 11, he was arrested near his Santa Ana home.

Through multiple search warrants, additional evidence in the case, including the firearm used in the killing was discovered, officials said.

The motive behind the deadly shooting remains unclear. Adrain was taken into custody on murder charges and booked at the Santa Ana Jail.
