The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office arrested Robert Lindley, 39 of Center, and Christal Gayle Lindley, 44 of Center, for cruelty to non-livestock animals and determined dogs under their care had been housed in unsuitable living conditions.

The sheriff’s office provided pictures of Chungus, a dog under the care of the Lindleys, before and after being under their care.

Nicholas Pet Haven, a non-profit organization, posted a statement of Chungus:

“This poor dog was in your care after being picked up by your so called animal control and kept at the hell hole in a burned house, in a hot horse trailer with flies, and mud filled pens! We want to know if dogs were removed and where are they now? Before and after! She can’t even sit up this morning.”

An investigation by the sheriff’s office revealed that at least one animal has died at the facility and kennels reportedly did not have adequate air flow.
