3 dead after truck strikes, injures multiple people on Lower East Side: NYPD

LOWER MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) — Three people are dead, and others are in critical condition after a pickup truck struck multiple people in the Lower East Side Thursday night, police said.

It happened near Gouverneur Slip and Jackson Street at 8:55 p.m., according to police.

Several people were injured, police said.

An auto extraction was also needed, police said.

The victims were all taken to area hospitals. One 44-year-old man was taken into custody, police said.
