Pair of Hikers Found Alive 2 Days After Going Missing in Yosemite National Park

Local officials have announced that two hikers who went missing in Yosemite National Park over the weekend have been found alive.
The hikers, identified by park officials as Miguel Delgado, 63, and Ana Rodarte, 40, set off on a day hike at 10 a.m. local time on Saturday, Aug. 3, according to a statement from Yosemite National Park officials.
That morning, the pair left Bridalveil Creek Campground and were "possibly" headed towards Ostrander Lake, authorities said.
The entire hike was only supposed to take a "couple of hours." Instead, they never returned.
However, in a email to PEOPLE on Monday, Aug. 5, officials said that the hikers had "JUST been found and are alive." Additional details, including whether they were injured, were not immediately known.
National Park officials previously described Delgado as a Hispanic man who is 6 ft. 1 in. tall and 160 lbs. with black hair and brown eyes, and was last seen wearing a brown jacket, orange t-shirt and tan pants and was carrying a backpack.

Meanwhile, Rodarte, was described as a Hispanic woman who is 5 ft. 7 in., 198 bs. with brown hair and brown eyes, who was wearing a gray jacket, green pants, and a blue ball cap.

When the pair were still missing, park officials called on the public for assistance in locating the missing hikers.
Those who may have any information regarding their disappearance or whereabouts are asked to “please contact the National Park Service with any information by calling 888-653-0009 or by emailing nps_isb@nps.gov.”
