DELHI TWP. — A man and his passenger were seriously injured after the pickup truck he was driving struck two parked vehicles in the early morning hours Friday.

A 51-year-old Lansing man was driving a pickup east on Dell Road when he sideswiped a parked SUV that the Ingham County Sheriff’s Office said was legally parked on the shoulder of the road. The man’s pickup then rear-ended another pickup, which police said was also legally parked, and both vehicles overturned, according to the sheriff's office.

The incident happened just before 1 a.m. Friday between Aurelius Road and Brigantine Drive.

The man and a 45-year-old Delhi Township woman who was traveling with him were transported to a Lansing area hospital with serious injuries that were not considered life threatening, the sheriff’s office said.

Neither of the parked vehicles were occupied.
