20 riders rescued from Disney California Adventure’s Incredicoaster

Twenty people had to be escorted off the Disney California Adventure Park’s Incredicoaster after the ride stopped on the tracks Sunday.

The stoppage occurred around 1:30 p.m. at the park located in Anaheim.

The riders were given umbrellas to protect themselves from the sun as they awaited rescue on a hot and sunny day, the Orange County Register reported citing stringer news service OC Hawk.

The passengers were stuck on the ride for more than an hour before they were rescued by Disneyland workers in safety harnesses.

The 6,000-foot-long looping coaster underwent seasonal refurbishment in March, according to the Register.

There was no word on why the ride broke down or if any injuries were reported.

KTLA has reached out to Disney for a statement on the incident.
