In a shocking blow to democracy, the Supreme Court ruled today that presidents (and former presidents) have some immunity from criminal prosecution. In a 6–3 vote along party lines, justices decided that presidents cannot be prosecuted for official actions — though this does not extend to private or personal conduct.

According to AP News, this development delays former president Donald Trump's federal election interference case, "all but ending prospects the former president could be tried before the November election."

Naturally, the internet had a lot to say about all this — so much so that "King Biden" trended on Twitter after the news broke.
