25-year-old motorcyclist killed in multi-vehicle crash on I-64

A 25-year-old Norfolk man died in a multi-vehicle crash while riding a motorcycle overnight Saturday in Virginia Beach.

Samuel R. Stoy was riding a 2021 Kawasaki ZX636K while driving eastbound on Interstate 64 near the 286 mile marker about 2:30 a.m. when he rear-ended a 2019 Alfa Romeo, according to a news release from Virginia State Police Tuesday morning.

Stoy, who was wearing a helmet at the time, was thrown from the motorcycle and then struck by a 2024 Nissan Kicks. He died at the scene.

None of the other drivers involved were injured. State police are investigating speed as the crash’s cause.
