26-year-old woman arrested Tuesday in connection to Kenmore shooting, authorities say

A 26-year-old woman was arrested in connection to a shooting in Kenmore Tuesday evening, according to Akron police.

Officers responded to reports of an individual with a gun on the porch of a residence in the 2000 block of 18th Street SW at about 9:43 p.m. Before arriving at the scene, police were told that the suspect had fired their weapon multiple times. The suspect was apprehended without incident.

Detectives determined that the suspect had no clear reason for being at the residence. She reportedly knocked on the front door before the victim inside the home called his father. Once the father pulled into the driveway, the suspect fired at least three shots in his direction, hitting the vehicle.

Police said the firearm and multiple shell casings were recovered from the front porch. Officers also determined that the home had been struck three times.

The suspect was charged with felonious assault, aggravated trespass, aggravated menacing, discharging a firearm and criminal damaging.
