28-year-old arrested after road rage incident leads to alleged shots fired, Danville PD reports

DANVILLE, Va. (WFXR)– The Danville Police Department says a 28-year-old man was arrested after a vehicle was allegedly shot at during an incident deemed as road rage on Tuesday, July 2.

According to the police department, officers responded at around 4:00 p.m. on a report of shots fired in the area of the 700 block of Halifax Road. A short time later, a victim reported his vehicle had been allegedly shot into during what police consider a road rage incident.

Through information found at the scene, the suspect vehicle and the driver identified as 28-year-old Marlowe Malik Cobbs of Milton, NC, was located by the Caswell County sheriff’s office in North Carolina. He was extradited back to Virginia and has been charged with:

  • Shooting from a vehicle

  • Attempted aggravated malicious wounding

  • Use of a firearm in commission of a felony

  • Child endangerment

  • Shooting at an occupied vehicle

Cobbs is currently being held in the Danville City Jail under no bond.
