3 arrests, 17 citations for illegal fireworks in Madera, police say

MADERA, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Three people were booked at the Madera County Jail and 17 citations were written for illegal fireworks on the Fourth of July, the Madera Police Department revealed on Friday.

Police say on Thursday the Fourth of July they responded to 234 calls for service. They wrote 17 citations for illegal fireworks and booked three people for shooting illegal fireworks. The three people were booked at the Madera County Jail.

Police also say they made several arrests for a variety of different crimes, including multiple DUIs, and domestic violence.

According to police, the Madera Fire Department also responded to 26 calls inside the City of Madera.
