According to police, an officer saw a vehicle sped down Springdale Street and turn onto Matthews Avenue early Friday morning. When the officer stopped at the intersection, a passenger allegedly got out of the car and fired a shot at the officer.

Officers responded to a prowler call on Park Avenue Saturday afternoon and reportedly spotted the vehicle used in Friday morning’s incident. Memphis Police say officers tried to stop the car, but the driver refused and a pursuit ensued.

Police say the car eventually crashed on Salem Street. Three men ran away on foot but were later captured in the area.

According to police, officers found three weapons and burglary in Bland’s backpack. Police say one weapon was stolen and another had a conversion device on it. One of the guns allegedly belonged to Flemmons.

Memphis Police say Turner’s backpack contained two handguns, marijuana, a scale, and baggies. Turner is also facing drug charges.

Police say the car the three were in was determined to have been stolen. No bond has been set for any of the men.

“I think us young folks, we can come together and make a change,” Hill said.
