3 dead, 2 hurt after violent 4-car crash in San Bernardino

Three people died and two others were injured after a brutal crash on the 215 Freeway in San Bernardino, authorities said.

A CHP spokesperson confirmed to KTLA that the collision occurred on the northbound span of the 215 near University Parkway around 11:26 p.m. Saturday.

According to a CHP news release, a 2020 Freightliner Cascadia was stopped on the right shoulder of the 215 when a driver behind the wheel of a 2018 Toyota Corolla veered onto the shoulder and crashed into the Cascadia’s rear.

The crash caused the Corolla to veer to the left, across lanes of traffic. Then, it collided with a 2010 Acura MDX that was traveling northbound. After becoming disabled in the lanes of traffic, the corolla was hit by a 2024 RAM 3500.

Two women, including the driver, were ejected from the Corolla. A third was found inside.

They were all pronounced dead at the scene. None of them have been identified.
