4 killed in Holly Springs, MS drive-by shooting identified

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Marshall County authorities have identified four people killed in a drive-by shooting in Holly Springs, Mississippi over the weekend.

The victims are Nathan Stewart, 27, of Holly Springs, Shavawn Murray, 23, of Memphis, Victoria Pugh, 23, of Memphis and Charde Ulonda Patirece Treveno, 24, of Memphis.

Holly Springs Police and the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office responded to a shooting at a home on West Woodward Street just before 7 p.m. Sunday.

Marshall County officials say two of the victims shared a child. A three-year-old girl was in the vehicle at the time of the shooting but was unharmed.

Investigators said when they got there, the toddler was covered in blood. She was turned over to family members.

The victim’s Auntie, Nancy Stewart says her nephew’s nickname was Nate. She told WREG about everyone else who died at Nate’s home Sunday night.

“One of the females was his fiance’, which the baby was in the car with them, and the other two girls were their friends from Memphis,” said Stewart.

She tells us she is unsure what led up to the shooting, but Witnesses told WREG a domestic dispute possibly caused it.

Neighbor Joe Wilson used to take Nate to school many years ago. He described to us what he heard as chaos erupted.

“Instantly after the first three or four shots, I heard another three or four shots,” said Wilson. “There were two deceased females inside the vehicle and then my neighbor, Nate, and then I believe another young lady was lying down not too far from him.”

“The baby is really young so I’m not sure if he really knows what’s going on right now,” said Stewart.

Holly Springs Mayor Sharon Gipson offered her condolences on the scene.

The Marshall County Sheriff’s office said a task force is still investigating the case, but they are not looking for any suspects or vehicle at this time.

The sheriff’s office said it’s awaiting autopsy results as well as forensics from evidence collected at the crime scene.
