The State Police said a tractor-trailer driving northbound on I-81 attempted to merge into the right travel lane prior to observing a vehicle beside, causing them to turn back, lose control, and cross over the median, where it struck two southbound vehicles.

Officials said two vehicles were struck, and another sustained minor damage from debris. Three individuals were transported to the hospital, and four sustained no injuries. One of those injured was a 4-year-old child.

According to the coroner’s office, John Sheltman, 79, and Eileen Beck, 80, of Selinsgrove, were in a Subaru Outback, and Lieu Nguyen, 49, of Harrisburg, was the driver of the other vehicle, a Toyota minivan.
