All aboard! People can check out trains and the DeLand SunRail Station at 2 events

The Florida Department of Transportation is inviting the public to get familiar with SunRail at the soon-to-open DeLand SunRail Station.

People will be able to tour parked SunRail trains, explore the station and learn more about the service from officials at the events.

The events will be from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays July 27 and Aug. 3 at the DeLand SunRail Station at 2491 Old New York Ave. in DeLand. People can arrive anytime during the event hours.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for people of the DeLand area to tour the trains, get answers to their questions, and understand how SunRail can make their lives easier,” David Cooke, the District Five rail administration manager for the FDOT, said in a prepared statement.
