Accident with entrapment in North Windham

North Windham — On Friday morning, the North Windham Fire Department responded to a call for a motor vehicle accident on Boston Post Road.

When fire officials arrived, personnel found the sole operator of the vehicle trapped in the their vehicle, along with a small canine.

The accident took place in the area of 143 Boston Post Road.

According to fire officials, Life Star HEMS was requested, but unavailable due to the weather.

Rescue personnel successfully removed the occupant in less than two minutes.

The operator was then transported to a nearby hospital and the canine was picked up by the Windham Animal Control officer.

Units on the scene included North Windham Rescue 102, North Windham Service 102, Windham Center Engine 103, Willimantic Ambulance 501, Windham Hospital Medic 31 and 32, Windham Animal Control and Connecticut State Police.
