Evacuation warnings were issued by the Lake County Sheriff’s Office for the following zones in Upper Lake: UPP-E029 and UPP-E034.

“We are asking everyone to take precautions in the event that a mandatory evacuation order is issued,” said the sheriff’s office. “Preparations should include gathering all medications and important documents, making plans for pets, and notifying family members where you may be going.”

Additional air and ground forces were en route to the fire, according to Cal Fire.

At about 6 p.m., Cal Fire said the fire’s forward progress was stopped. They said firefighters would be on the scene to “construct control lines and conduct heavy mop-up in the steep and rugged terrain” until Friday.
