Airport Improvements: Courtney highlights $448K grant

NORTH WINDHAM — Congressman Joe Courtney and the Connecticut Airport Authority met at Windham Airport Thursday morning to discuss a $448,000 federal grant that was awarded to Windham Airport.

The grant, made possible by federal infrastructure law Courtney helped enact in 2021, will improve the airport’s security, parking and access roads.

To date, the infrastructure law has provided nearly $9 billion in airports nationwide and over $12 million to airports across Connecticut through the Airport Infrastructure Grant (AIG) program. The funding has been invested in runways, taxiways, safety, sustainability projects, terminals, airport-transit connections and roadway projects.
