Al Franken Gets Emotional; Jimmy Fallon Does a Mean Jerry Seinfeld

We realize there's only so much time one can spend in a day watching new trailers, viral video clips, and shaky cell phone footage of people arguing on live television. Sen. Al Franken choked up on the Senate floor while giving a speech in favor of the Violence Against Women act. It's a nice moment when he talks about Sen. Paul Wellstone and his wife Sheila, who died in a plane crash, and advocated defending women from domestic violence. Franken's probably smiling again by now, as the bill passed the Senate shortly afterward. [Via ABC News]

We mostly remember Jimmy Fallon's Saturday Night Live run as one in which he did Weekend Update and laughed during other people's sketches. But watching his audition tape for the show (he seems to be trending thanks to the Midas Touch of Obama) we see why they hired the guy. He's obviously nervous, but hey some of those impressions are pretty good! His Jerry Seinfeld, in particular, had us laughing.  Anyway have a look. [Via Vulture]

Max Greenfield, of New Girl fame, tells Jimmy Kimmel about his oddly-themed Bar Mitzvah. Highlights: A giant cutout of David Spade's head served as a table centerpiece. Most enjoyable, though, is how obviously pleased he is that Kimmel brought the whole thing up. [via Vulture]
