Albuquerque mother pleads guilty to child abandonment resulting in the death of her child
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – After a toddler died from a cocaine overdose, her mother was charged with her death. Thursday afternoon, Kreshenna Delaney, 47, went before a judge to plead guilty to the crime. The mother of three pled guilty to three charges involving the death of her two-year-old daughter.

“Plea is as follows, it says that you will be pleading guilty to abandonment of a child under 13 resulting in death. A second-degree felony resulting in the death of a human being N.D.,” said Judge Bruce F. Fox.
Last year, on May 16, Kreshenna Delaney took her unresponsive 2-year-old child to an Albuquerque hospital where doctors said the child died from a cocaine overdose.
Delaney admitted to selling the drug out of her home. After finding her child unresponsive, she drove to Lovelace Women’s Hospital where security footage showed her waiting two and a half minutes in the car before walking across the parking lot to the entrance.
“I do appreciate you taking responsibility today. Attorney’s same goes for you, I know this type of case where you have a parent who is very possibly a loving parent but makes this mistake of bringing narcotics into the home, so I do appreciate your work on this as well,” said Judge Fox.
Delaney also pled guilty to two counts of child abuse involving her other two children. Judge Fox ordered a 60-day evaluation for Delaney out of concern for her erratic behavior possibly being a mental health issue. Sentencing will follow the evaluation. She is facing up to 21 years behind bars.
