WASHINGTON, D.C. – Thursday morning, political commentator and former KARK 4 News anchor Alice Stewart was memorialized in Washington D.C. nearly three weeks after her sudden death.

Weeks after her death, the pain is still fresh for many, including her “bestie” – former KARK anchor Betsy Pilgrim.

“Alice made all of us feel like the most important person in the world,” Pilgrim said in her eulogy. “What she didn’t fully grasp, as you were just saying, is that she made the world a better place for all of us. She was the bright light… My last thought: be like Alice. Be kind, surround yourself with people like Alice, love, and appreciate every single moment because tomorrow is not promised. Alice, I love you and you are dearly missed.”

Pilgrim also shared a few fun facts about Alice. She said Stewart was a fan of painting, cooking and gardening, loved volunteering whenever she could and adored her 16-year-old dog Sam.
