AMC movie theater in Londonderry closes for good
Sep. 18—AMC Classic Londonderry 10 movie theater is now closed, joining several others that have closed in the past year.
Chunky's Cinema Pub locations in Nashua and Pelham and Regal Cinema in Concord closed earlier this year.
AMC Theaters confirmed the Londonderry location closed for good on Sunday.
"AMC routinely reviews the theaters in our circuit, as well as opportunities outside of our circuit, and makes decisions based on what will best strengthen the company going forward," a statement reads.
The company encourages customers to go to AMC Tyngsboro 12 to see the latest flicks.
The location near the Apple Tree Mall shopping plaza had been operated by O'Neil Cinemas for 32 years before switching to Carmike Cinemas in 2014. Carmike Cinemas was later bought by AMC.
AMC no longer has any locations in New Hampshire, according to its website.
The property is owned by Apple Tree Mall Realty Trust, which appears to be associated with O'Neil Cinemas. Company representatives could not be reached for comment as Wednesday afternoon.
The uses of shuttered theaters have varied.
In Hooksett, the former Regal Cinema is being transformed into a Harley-Davidson dealership.
The Derry Five Star Cinema is now being used as a warehouse and distribution facility for C.H.I. Overhead Doors.
