Another chicken restaurant in Fort Collins has closed

The Post Chicken & Beer restaurant in Fort Collins has closed.

On Tuesday, workers were moving items out of the space at 1002 S. College Ave., which the restaurant had occupied since fall 2021.

A handwritten sign on the door notified patrons of the closure.

The Post has six other locations in Colorado: Lafayette, Boulder, Longmont, Estes Park and two in Denver. It specializes in fried chicken plates, soul food sides and craft beers.

The Fort Collins site first opened in 2020 as a ghost restaurant inside of Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, which is owned by the same restaurant group, Big Red F.

After testing the waters, The Post opened inside the former IHOP restaurant across from the Colorado State University campus, which had been renovated after sitting empty since 2018.

The Post is the second regional chicken restaurant to close in Fort Collins this year. Blazing Bird on North College Avenue closed this spring. That restaurant opened in 2021.

Music City Hot Chicken is opening a second location in the former Blazing Bird space at 1820 N. College Ave.
