MILWAUKEE, Wisc. – Two major Arkansas lawmakers took the stage at the Republic National Convention in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

Arkansas Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Sen. Tom Cotton spoke on the second day of the convention, both adamant in their backing of former President Donald Trump.

Cotton centered his speech around defending Trump-era border policies, speaking about an immigrant who he said recently became a citizen of Arkansas and was excited to vote for Trump.

Sanders spoke of her family and her experience with Trump as his press secretary during his administration.

Many former Trump opponents, such as Nikki Haley and Ron DeSantis, spoke in support of Trump on Tuesday night.

The convention comes days after the attempted assassination of Trump at a rally in Pennsylvania. Trump made an appearance at the RNC on Monday night as well as Tuesday.

The convention is set to continue until Thursday.
