Arrest made for Hollenbeck Street collision shop murder
ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – Rochester police have arrested and accused a man of murder after a man was fatally shot inside a collision shop on Hollenbeck Street in September.
Police say 29-year-old Christopher Romero Warren was working inside the shop on Hollenbeck Street near Keeler Street on September 18, when a man entered the shop around 9:15 p.m. and shot Romero-Warren multiple times at point blank range.

According to RPD, Major Crimes Homicide Detectives identified the shooter as 24-year-old Angelito Diaz-Escalera. Police say Romero-Warren and Diaz-Escalera knew each other and the murder is allegedly tied to a dispute between the two.
On October 30, members of the United States Marshals Violent Felony Fugitive Task Force found Diaz-Escalera on the Rochester’s west side and he was arrested without incident on an unrelated sealed indictment warrant.
Along with the indictment, Diaz-Escalera was charged with Murder (2nd) for the fatal shooting on Hollenbeck Street.
Diaz-Escalera was arraigned in Rochester City Court on the Murder and CPW charge Thursday. The unrelated indictment warrant will be unsealed in Monroe County Court at a later date.
