Arrest made after man shoots cousin over dog, police say

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A man shot his cousin, leaving him critically injured earlier this month in the Hickory Hill area after an argument over a dog, Memphis Police say.

Eddie Glover, 43, was arrested on Thursday and charged with aggravated assault.

According to reports, on June 7, officers responded to a shooting on 3970 Lacewood Drive. A man was found on the scene, shot in the torso and left leg.

The victim stated that his cousin, Eddie Glover, shot him after they were arguing about a dog.

He was then taken to Regional One Hospital in critical condition.

MPD says they interviewed a witness who stated she saw two men arguing about a dog and then one of the men shot the other.

The witness positively identified Eddie Glover from a six-person photo lineup as the man who fired the shots.

Glover is set to appear in court on July 1.

On September 23, 2014, Glover pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver, which is a felony.
